Web application development

Browser-based systems that work on any device, with nothing to install and no version to chase.

Web application interface being reviewed on a laptop screen

A web application is simply software that lives in the browser. No installers, no IT rollout, no "which version are you on?" — everyone opens a URL and is on the current build.

That makes it the right shape for anything shared: booking systems, customer portals, order boards, stock control, quoting tools, internal dashboards, staff scheduling. Anything where more than one person needs the same picture at the same time.

We build them to behave like proper software rather than a website with forms bolted on — instant updates, offline tolerance where it matters, and interfaces that hold up on a phone in a van as well as a monitor in an office.

What you get

What web application development includes

Every engagement covers the same ground. Nothing here is an optional extra we spring on you halfway through.

01

Responsive from day one

Designed for phones and tablets first, because that is where most staff and customers will actually use it.

02

Real-time where it counts

Order boards, live dashboards and job queues that update themselves without anyone hitting refresh.

03

Secure authentication

Proper session handling, password policy, optional two-factor and audit trails on the actions that matter.

04

Payments built in

Stripe, PayPal, GoCardless and SumUp integrations we have shipped and supported in production, not read about.

05

Multi-tenant if you need it

One platform, many customers, each with their own data, branding and even their own domain.

06

Built to be measured

Analytics, error tracking and uptime monitoring wired in before launch, not after the first outage.

Is this you?

This service is a good fit if…

  • Your team needs the same live information across sites, vans or venues
  • Customers should be able to self-serve instead of phoning you
  • You want one system rather than a website plus three disconnected tools
  • A desktop application would be a nightmare to roll out and update
  • You need something that scales from ten users to ten thousand

Questions

Web application development FAQs

Including what it costs and how long it takes.

What is the difference between a website and a web application?

A website mostly presents information. A web application does work — it stores data, enforces rules, handles logins, processes payments and changes what it shows based on who is looking. If users log in and things happen, it is an application.

Will it work on phones and tablets?

Yes. Every application we build is responsive and touch-friendly, and we test on real devices. Where it helps, we make it installable as a progressive web app so it sits on the home screen like a native app.

Can it integrate with our existing systems?

Almost always. If your accounting package, EPOS, CRM or warehouse system has an API — or even just a scheduled CSV — we can connect to it. See our API integration and automation service for detail.

How do you handle security?

HTTPS everywhere, hashed credentials, role-based permissions, protection against the OWASP top ten, dependency scanning and regular patching. Applications handling card data use tokenised payment providers so card numbers never touch our servers.
